I’m Arden Burrell, a remote sensing and data scientist. I currently work as a Data Scientist with the Australian Plant Phenomics Network and the Sydney Informatics Hub at the University of Sydney, where I build machine learning and AI tools that extend the research impact of drone and satellite data.
Over the past decade my research has used remote sensing, climate data and machine learning to understand how vegetation responds to a changing climate — from dryland degradation and desertification through to wildfire and forest loss in the boreal and Arctic regions. I’m also the developer of the TSS-RESTREND R-package, available on both CRAN and GitHub.
